Tablescapes

The reception is the first official party you will throw as a married couple. How do you want to set the scene? With a little extra planning, you and your guests can celebrate in winter wonderland, a garden of spring flowers or even a western hoedown. Carefully selected linens, cutlery, stemware and centerpieces are the start of creating the atmosphere. Here are some examples of tablescapes produced locally.

Royal Blue

William and Kate’s royal wedding provided inspiration for this regal tablescape. The tablecloth is crinkled blue taffeta, as are the bows which decorate the Chiavari-style chairs. The bow centers and napkin rings are hobby store-crafted copies of Kate’s stunning ring. Fancy (but low-cost) picture frames hold table numbers. Roses, tulips, hydrangeas and floating candles rule the center of the table. Silver- and royal blue-covered bonbons sweeten the place settings. Invitations by Noteworthy Paper _ Press.

Eternal Spring

A salmon theme lends a spring/summer feel to this effervescent tablescape. A white tablerunner hides the seam between two tables draped in salmon. The centerpiece includes petit roses, hydrangeas and wheatgrass, with a candle as the focal point. A candle holder acts as table number; the number was cut out of color paper and adhered to the holder. Place cards hang from ribbons on chairbacks in order to cut down on table clutter. Bath salt party favors add sparkle. Invitations by Noteworthy Paper _ Press.

Western Flair

This western-themed tablescape was spruced up with actual spruce! Slices of a tree trunk (varnished to add shine and kill critters) serve as chargers and also as  table numbers (the numbers were burned into the wood). Chunks from a tree limb hold place cards. Muslin tablecloths and chair covers are accented with burlap placemats and chair ties. Bandannas have replaced napkins. The centerpiece consists of a birch bark vase holding a variety of succulents. Baby pine tree party favors nestle next to each place setting. Invitations by Noteworthy Paper _ Press.

Stunning in Black and White

White poppies and hydrangeas match this black and white themed tablescape. Square black chargers boldly present round white plates bearing napkins folded to display place cards. The boxes holding the party favors were originally brown; spray paint from a hobby store quickly turned them into the desired white. A wooden number 3, intended to be a child’s block toy, was spray-painted and repurposed into a table number. Invitations by Noteworthy Paper _ Press.
